China: Why pineapple prices will not stabilize
"The growing conditions for pineapples were excellent this year. Our harvest season began in the middle of February and has only just finished. We have already sold all our pineapples. The production volume was much larger this year than it was last year. The reason for this development is that we expanded our pineapple plantations." This is according to Mr. Zhang of Taiwan Agricultural Source Co., Ltd.
"Overall, the pineapple price has been extremely unstable this year, but we have managed to obtain a relatively stable price for our pineapples. There are two main reasons for this achievement: first, we actively build our product brand and protect our brand image. Second, we value the right time to harvest pineapples and safeguard the product quality. Many pineapple trading companies encountered difficulties this year. There is not one brand that can help a company maintain high, competitive prices in a market where supply exceeds demand."
